Went with my boyfriend. He had the tortellini Alfredo and I had spinach pasta. It was pricey for what we got. The bread other Italian places give you is not free and you don’t get much. Also, no free refills :(
Fantastic food that is worth the price. That b being said, service was slow, sparse and hardly motivated. Also, as much as I love the fact that it's inside an older building, the high ceiling and lack of acoustic dampening made the experience noisy.
Came in from the Twin Cities to do some wine and beer tours and found this restaurant online and decided to make a reservation. The food was incredible. My husband had the spicy shrimp and I had the salmon. I gave the restaurant 4 stars due to a couple things that weren't provided. For the price, and style I was surprised they didn't provide a bread basket, we had to order any pay for separate. I also didn't like that there isn't much walking space and we were set literally right next to the bathroom. My chair was right by the bathroom door. However on the whole it was a great experience.
For the food, he said the tortellini was amazing, he loved it. I was not a huge fan of my pasta. I didn’t realize there wasn’t a sauce, just oil, and that’s my fault. It just wasn’t great with all of the ingredients, the sundried tomato was strong.
Mona Lisa's is a shining gem in Eau Claire! The food is always exquisite, and with a menu that is varied enough there is never a reason NOT to go to Mona Lisa's wether it is your first or fortieth time. The service has, in my experience, always been attentive and a step above. An example: my sister ordered a spicy shrimp dish, and when it was slightly too spicy for her taste, the waitress offered to have the kitchen toss the shrimp again with the sauce altered to cut down the heat. I cannot stress enough how the service, food, and atmosphere join to make one of the best dinner experiences in Eau Claire.
Had the paella last night, with prosecco. Can't resist when this is on the menu. But last night's recipe was the best I've ever enjoyed. Whatever you've done to tweak it, brava!
But the decor is entertaining and the staff were nice. The pictures on the ceiling were comical. The chandeliers were pretty cool. And they buy local as I understand it, which is awesome.
