Fun, cute salon. I've been going to my stylist Bonny for 2 years now! She always does an amazing job, and is always up for change, which keeps things interesting! She's also very product knowledgeable! 5 stars!
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVIVE. They need to clean their ears, I thought women were supposed to be better listeners. Apparently not, if you work at Mia & Maxx!
I NEVER write reviews, but I'm extremely fed up with this salon. I've been to this salon about 6, maybe more, times. This is one of two mid-range Salons in EC that I go to for hair coloring, because it's fairly cheap and they can actually lighten my hair to the desired hue. However, today was the last straw. This morning I scheduled an appointment to get my haired colored at 7 pm. When I was asked for my number, to confirm my informatio, it was not on file, as my phone had changed. So I gave my previous number to check, also not on file, and restated my new number to confirm my phone change. 7 pm arrives, I go in and am told by the present stylist, the same woman I spoke to this morning, that she had tried to call to reschedule. I told her I received no call. And when she checked my number in their data, it was not my number. She asked to reschedule, and i might have, had she CALLED the right number to tell me. I might have even let that go, if it wasn't for my last scheduled appointment. Two weeks ago, I had an appointment scheduled in the afternoon, but when i arrived I was told I wasn't scheduled, and they were unavailable to schedule me in for the day... Previously, I had gone in for a hair coloring, and wanted a coppper color, but left with a mildly bright orange. Another experience with them was when I asked for bangs, they gave me bangs like a typical girl would have, when I specifically asked to have the bangs begin from my hair whorl, not forehead. That was easily fuxed, but she cut my bangs so short, I looked like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber. And another incident was when i went in for a trim, I asked to keep the length as long as possible, but left with extremely short hair, when the original length was at my shoulders! I don't like to complain, and be rude, because i know what it's like to deal with rude customers, so I never said anything. I smile and tell them it looks, "fine". Mostly because I was into the punky/grunge looks, so I usually fixed it myself and explain the choice as aesthetically punk. Besides, it's not as if they'd let me leave without paying. I witnessed them butcher an older woman's hair, who refused to pay, and waited until she gave up yelling at them and just paid. For a guy, I'm fairly patient, given the price range of the store.... And I would be lying if I said I never had a good experience here, but seriously, the BAD outweighs the good. I kept telling myself, maybe I just had a bad stylist this time, but I guess they're all like that. LESSON LEARNED! That being said, I've had it! Maybe they just dont prioritize male customers... regardless, I'M NEVER GOING BACK.
I went in to get an ombré on a short cut and the gal who did my color went all the way up my head with super uneven color, it looked horrible. I wasn't impressed especially because this stylist was supposedly a guru stylist, it was hands down the worst color I have ever gotten done in my life! I will never go back.
My favorite place! The stylists are always friendly and the prices are great considering the professionalism and results!
I went in to get a trim and the lady that did my hair completely messed it up. I had a side shave, and she asked if i wanted a design in it. It turned out very very uneven and i was extremely unhappy. I ended up going to a men's salon known to do very good designs in hair on the other side of the mall and they laughed at the job the lady at Mia and Maxx's did and ended up practically skinning the side of my head to get rid of the design for free. The women at Mia and Maxx's seemed very very ditzy and were unfocused for the most par i do not reccomend anyone get anything done here.
