Having disputed relevant portions of the presentence investigation at the sentencing hearing, it was trial counsel's duty to see that the disputes were fully resolved by a proper hearing. Failure to do so constituted ineffective assistance of counsel. State v. Anderson, 222 Wis. 2d 403, 588 N.W.2d 75 (Ct. App. 1998), 97-3070.
In my belief, a terrible attorney. I did see him get a 30yr woman sentenced to 4 years today on her very first set of charges spanning one year time. For the first time known the prosecution and DOC admitted two separate PSI’s with the same sentence recommendations, leaving me to believe it was an effort to reaffirm the court in its decision, much like a second opinion. Not only that but denied to bring attention to the courts that the very people interviewed by the PSI worker, contributing to the recommendation, was set heavily on people with personal gain if sentenced long term. This was bias in nature and would have been grounds to have a reevaluation of the truth with testimonies of people on her side. This was denied.. He also advised not to appeal.
