I like going into this store. They have their parakeets in a open top bird cage so you you can hear them chirping. I also love looking at their saltwater fish tanks. They have numerous shop animals as well and each has a different story. We go here for dog food, because they are competitive on price with petco and local.
The store gets in new animals quite often. Once or twice a year Tropic waters gets hand-tamed small birds from a specific breeder (green cheek, caique, etc...) You also are able to interact or even hold most of the animals!
It's a well stocked pet store with whatever you can want. Also some fun live in pets wandering around adds to the ambiance
The owner, Jim, is quite helpful! He clips our birds wings for us (one of the only places around that does this and is not an overpriced vet clinic!) All of the workers seem pretty knowledgeable.
Tropic waters in my opinion is the best place to get birds in town. The prices are all pretty comparable between stores, but Tropic waters has more to chose from, and a lot of them are hand fed as babies so they are easy to tame. Tropic Waters also has a large selection of fish for you to chose from.
This is one of the coolest pet stores I've been to. They have an amazing selection of any pet product you can think of and even more variety of animals of all kinds. All of the animals are housed very well and don't have crowded cages. If you're in the area you need to check this place out.
Unless you want to visit a boring corporate store you need to visit here prior to any animal purchasing.
